E-Book describing the use of the Losing Trick Count and methods of evaluating a bridge hand in the Game of Bridge

Bridge Lessons Hand Evaluation and The Losing Trick COunt edition by Andrew Robson Humor Entertainment eBooks

This is a helpful intermediate-level overview of hand evaluation principles. The discussion of Losing Trick Count is disappointingly skimpy, but the example hands are very good. The condensed format makes it possible to absorb the lessons a little at a time, making them easier to retain.

Recommended to all improving bridge players.

a good learning book
The exercises loose a lot of value since the author uses an outdated bidding system. There are some useful tips on the playing of the hands.
First off this book is written by an Englishman. They must play bridge differently over there. I didn't understand how to answer his beginning taster. I would never have opened 1NT with a 13 point balanced hand so I don't know what the point count my partner (over there) would have to make an invitational 2NT bid. I would have opened the hands with either 1 diamond or 1 club. I suggest this book might be more useful for people who do open 1NT with 13 points. )
Robson's book was the first that I have read that covered losing trick count. I found it easy to understand and helpful. I know it will improve my bidding. I would like to have seen a bit more depth but what is included is perhaps adequate. As nearly as I can tell (he doesn't say), he is using ACOL bidding to which I am not accustomed. However, one can assume a little different bidding and the principles still apply. I searched for "losing trick count" and found one other book available for kindle. It was more than twice the price and more than half a century out of date. For a an advanced beginning through intermediate or even somewhat advanced duplicate player who wants something for their kindle, Robson's book is well worth the very modest price. Frankly, I wish some of my recent casual partners had read it.
Poor
Loved the logical way ideas were developed and the very approachable language.
Andrew should be compulsory reading for all those who play for enjoyment through improvement.
The incredible number of overlooked kindle mistakes in this book completely ruins any success it could have had at teaching how to bid. The lack of any attempt at editing shows that the writer wasn't interested enough in his own work to give it any attention. I would like to see a new edition of this book when it is given the editing it deserves.
This is a helpful intermediate-level overview of hand evaluation principles. The discussion of Losing Trick Count is disappointingly skimpy, but the example hands are very good. The condensed format makes it possible to absorb the lessons a little at a time, making them easier to retain.
